Tired of Door-Knocking? Try This Instead

Source: Marta Stasik

As mortgage rates surged, Marta Stasik Fahme, a broker-owner in San Diego, faced a daunting challenge: her real estate sales dramatically slowed, and she found herself without any escrows for six months. However, instead of giving up, she decided to think outside the box. Fahme became a driver for Lyft, the popular ride-hailing service, not just as a side job, but as a strategic move to market her real estate business.

The Strategy: Real Estate Ride-Hailing Driving for Lyft allowed Fahme to creatively integrate her real estate marketing into everyday interactions. By placing a sign on the back of her car's seats that read, "Are you thinking about buying or selling a property in SD?", she effectively turned her vehicle into a moving advertisement.

This simple yet innovative approach ensured that every passenger was immediately aware of her profession and could engage in a conversation about real estate if they were interested — and business picked up. While picking up this side gig may not be worth your time, it might be worth a conversation with your next Uber/Lyft driver.

FCC’s New Proposal on AI-Generated Robocalls

Source: Inman

In a recent announcement, FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel unveiled a comprehensive plan aimed at regulating AI-generated robocalls. This initiative is set to introduce stricter measures to ensure transparency and protect consumers from potential scams facilitated by these technologies.

Key Features of the Proposal

Rosenworcel's proposal includes several pivotal elements designed to enhance consumer protection:

  • Mandatory Disclosures: Callers must disclose the use of AI in robocalls when obtaining prior express consent from consumers. Additionally, each AI-generated call must include a disclosure to help consumers recognize and manage these calls effectively.

  • Technological Enhancements: The plan advocates for the development of technology that assists consumers in identifying and blocking unwanted AI-generated calls.

  • Protection for Beneficial Uses: It aims to safeguard the positive applications of AI-generated calls, particularly for consumers with disabilities.

This plan, if passed, may have an impact on your business if you’re utilizing this lead gen strategy.
